Government Law College Kozhikode was established in 1970 to impart excellent education and knowledge in the field of law. Established as the third law college in Kerala, we offer five-year LLB, three-year LLB undergraduate courses, and a postgraduate course LLM (Taxation and Criminology). The institute has been evolving by continually responding to social changes, creating a legally-centred atmosphere that promotes and protects all justice, equality, dignity, and human rights. The main objective of the college is to render quality law education.

  The college has a well-established library spread over 7100 square feet with comfortable seating arrangements. The library has the necessary learning resources to promote research and self-learning. The latest editions of Law and Management books are procured annually and made available for circulation and reference. The collection comprises over 48,000 books, including reference, gift/complimentary, and nearly 2000 bound volumes. The library has a yearly subscription to 10-15 national and international journals.

       The library’s Learning Resource Center provides internet and Wi-Fi and access to online databases like Manupatra SCC Online and Hein Online, along with other reference services. The library offers automated literature search and remote access to the library through its content management database, "www.glcklibrary.in.". The website provides access to institutional repositories such as the list of LLM dissertations, the content pages of print journals subscribing to the library, the syllabus of the courses the institution offers, previous year question papers, and college magazines. The Digital Library provides access to free, open-access e-journals, e-books, and databases.

 Central Library is fully automated using open source integrated library management software "KOHA," and visits to the library are recorded through an electronic gate register (Inout management system). Books are properly shelved subject-wise as per the DDC classification scheme.
